Every year, the third and fourth graders in Metro Nashville are given the interesting opportunity to design an "ad" which promotes recycling for a cleaner city. Two entries from every participating school typically get their work enlarged and posted to the side of a trash truck for all to see until May. I think it is a great opportunity to not only promote our art program, but to teach the students about the many ways that one can use their talents to enrich the city in which they live. This year, I entered 2 of my 4th grade boys, and they both got their work on a truck.
